1.2 - Made the Game Fun!
I took feedback from Ludum Dare players and tried to improve the game in a limited amount of time (mostly over this evening, haha!) So here's what's fixed:
- Overhauled the map: It is now significantly smaller, only has three paths, and is much easier to navigate.
- Added a "Next Wave" button to summon the next wave immediately.
- Changed amount of waves.
- Fixed the Game Over screen not displaying upon loss.
- Fixed pause screen playing the normal music over the attack music when unpaused.
- Increased size of spike pits to make them more viable and effective.
- Increased damage of spike pits.
- Increased health of enemies.
- Made enemies slightly slower.
- Increased size of loot to make it stand out more.
- Made audio less loud.
There are likely quite a few more changes I made that I didn't log into this - but basically, the game's fun now. It's not perfect, there are still quite a few bugs (enemies will get stuck at certain spots, or they will die without finishing their death animation, leaving them stuck. If that happens, try to damage them again if you can.) These issues are rooted in overall poor code and would take an overhaul of the game's systems to fix. And I plan on fixing them!
However, as it is, I am very satisfied with this new version. Me and Orion will likely come back to this concept, but for now I want to focus on something else. Thanks again for anybody who gave feedback!
